Panajachel Colegio Internacional (PCI) is seeking dedicated educators who are passionate about student learning, cultural diversity, community involvement and adventure. We are a small (70 students) non-profit school located in the Guatemalan highlands next to beautiful Lake Atitlan. General Purpose
To plan, organize and implement a culturally sensitive and rigorous mathematics and science program for the students at Panajachel Colegio Internacional.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Teachers are expected to:
? Plan (unit and lesson plans), prepare, and deliver instructional activities that maximize active learning opportunities
? Nurture a culture in which teachers view themselves as facilitators of learning and as reflective practitioners
? Guide and encourage students to develop and fulfill their academic potential, as well as, develop social and behavioral skills necessary for success after high school.
? Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
? Work collaboratively with their co-teachers when applicable.
? Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development and communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, Administrative Director, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
? Participate in school meetings, including parent meetings.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
