Job Description Summary:
PayPal is looking to hire a senior Collaboration Technologies engineer to work in their global team of L3 engineers supporting the company’s corporate collaboration technologies. These are primarily M365 and Slack and include email, chat, file storage and sharing as well as video conferencing. We are looking for someone who can act both as an IT architect SME and a hands-on implementer. Highly proficient with Microsoft 365 cloud technology yet has all-around knowledge of other competitive platforms. This person needs to be able to communicate and cooperate with team members and other co-workers. Must be a fast learner and able to multi-task frequently
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead SME on all collaboration technologies within M365, Slack, Google.
As an architect, be able to assess business challenges, design possible solutions, and present these to management and partners.
Execute on approved projects to completion with a keen eye on details.Be able to create plans and schedules in conjunction with the project manager.
Design, verify, and document comprehensive test plans before rollout to production.
Communicate effectively with co-workers and other stake holders on progress and impediments.
Lead or be a resource for acquisition-type projects that require manipulating vast amounts of data and ensuring a smooth transition of platforms.
Work with various units to coordinate and help integrate the various tools used internally.
Maintain the operational and day to day tasks of helping internal customers and keeping systems up and running at a L3 level.
Be available on certain weekends as the On-Call person, and at times be available on a 24-hour rotation when a crisis happens.
Create technical reports for management and completing regulatory documents.
Follow the stringent process to execute scheduled changes.
Be flexible with work hours to accommodate various teams from different parts of the world.
Keep an open eye on upcoming technology that may benefit the company and socialize this information within the organization.
Establish reputation as a subject matter expert in assigned technology area.
Technical expertise needed:
Expert knowledge in M365 at the L3 system engineer level for all apps and tools within that platform
Expert knowledge in Slack maintaining an Enterprise Grid deployment
Expert knowledge in Exchange, Mail Routing, Perimeter email appliances (Ironport)
Expert knowledge in PowerShell, understands the use of Microsoft’s various APIs. Must be able to create and maintain moderately-sized scripts to automate tasks as much as possible.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Teams and audio/video conferencing in general. Including SIP/H323 and Room systems.
Expert knowledge in SharePoint Online.
Strong knowledge of network technologies, not to support it but to augment troubleshooting process and quickly/correctly identify trouble spots.
Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Load Balancers and other core corp IT infra.
Strong understanding of security protocols to support our security team in keeping the organization safe.
Has familiarity Smartsheet, and Miro – not a hard requirement but expected to learn these products and be able to support customers.
