Description
- 3+ years installing, configuring and administering Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual)
- HP and Dell servers
- VMware ESX configuration and administration
- Active Directory and Group policy management
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Performance tuning
- Comfortable and proficient with the command line on Windows and Linux
- Proficiency in Windows scripting using VBScript and PowerShell
- Proficiency in Linux scripting using BASH, Perl and/or Python
Positions objective
- Maintain desktop and server hardware and software
- Maintain server and database backups
- Maintain VoIP and other telecommunication systems
- Build out new infrastructure
- Recommend system improvements and participate in improving overall architecture
- Be responsible and accountable for maintaining the infrastructure
- Monitor services, taking action where required to maintain a healthy environment
- Automate repetitive tasks or work with programmers to craft stable solutions to problems
- Support the development team and be an integral part in the design and engineering of complex systems
- Work under minimal supervision and escalate issues to management
- Must be well motivated to work for a technology company and be willing to learn
Work experience
- 3+ years in a mixed Windows and Linux environment
- Administrative knowledge with IIS, SQL Server, Exchange, Sendmail, Apache, MySQL, DNS
- Must have knowledge in VoIP Technologies (SIP, H323)
- Experience configuring Cisco routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers
- Understanding of high availability architecture and best practices
- Experience with storage appliances and provisioning (EMC)
- Disaster recovery planning and implementation
- Experience working with a development team and supporting development process
