Position summary: The Senior Associate, Markets will be responsible for commercialization of Climate, Nature and Communities´ project commodities in three landscapes (Petén, Western Highlands and Verapaces), leading market-development work with local SME´s. S/he will design local market platforms to connect partner producer communities to preferential markets; grow demand for sustainably produced/certified products; develop and manage account plans for strategic companies; and position solutions delivered under different platforms created for target companies within local SME and internationally companies. S/he will lead the development of an annual workplan for market outreach and provide periodic progress reports for RA internal uses and donor partners. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the International Markets linkages and Chief of Party, the Senior Associate, Markets will: Management Coordinate activities with the CNCG´s Business Strengthening Manager and landscapes team according to regional guidelines and best practices; Prepare scopes of work for and oversee consultants as local service providers; Prepare and/or review the implementing reports, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for projects and business skills component for all landscapes; Prepare the annual operational plans for the business skills component in the region; Engage financial entities of investment opportunities with timber and non-timber SMEs; Technical oversight: Lead the development of a market and business development strategies and plans, and contribute to the development of the overall CNCG strategy; Develop and implement key account management plans for timber and nontimber commodities; Contribute to/prepare progress reports per funder and Rainforest Alliance requirements; Ensure effective cross-functional coordination within CNCG market information and Market Linkages specialist to maximize the impact and success of planned activities. Support participating producer communities to strengthen them with information providing as intelligence and guidance to these groups on relevant topics (i.e. market trends); and by providing information on these communities to the global markets team; Support the preparation of market-related fundraising proposals and the negotiation and development of service agreements with companies supporting the work of CNCG project; Advise and support the development and establishment of sustainable supply policies to companies, medium and small business. Be involved in the work with work with the business skills team to develop tools, resources and campaigns to target landscapes timer and nontimber products Organize and carry out CNCG´s engagement in different events of Guatemala transformation sector (industry sector); Represent Rainforest Alliance at key events, presentations, policy forums and roundtables and communicate program achievements. Support the project´s reporting and monitoring activities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, commerce, international affairs and other related fields; Minimum 5-years´ experience developing market initiatives in partnership with private sector and local producers; Minimum 3-years´ experience developing and positioning sustainable supply chain, nationally and internationally; Experience working with commodities as timber, non- timber products or cocoa, coffee or other commodity that could be able to consider as agroforestry system; Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, to work with communities, indigenous and women groups; Ability to work within a team structure and independently, creative, take initiative and be attentive to details; Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a time sensitive manner; Fluent in English and Spanish; Written and verbal proficiency in English; and Ability and willingness to travel 60% of the time to nationwide and internationally.
