**What you'll be doing**
+ Lead solution and implementation of consumer-focused features on PayPal's Android app
+ Research independently to create prototypes, deliver new features and improve upon the existing ones
+ This leadership role requires collaboration with project managers and various engieering teams in definiting roadmaps - project evaluation, feasibility studies, sequencing and timelines for feature delivery
+ Lead design discussions, code reviews and lead path for best in class solutions
+ Experiments to push the boundaries of app capabilities and to leverage new paradigms in client-server interaction and data syncing
+ Monitor on-call rotation, triaging and addressing production issues.
+ Anchoring a sustained and dedicated Android engineering team
+ Be proactive and creative about resolving conflicts in a respectful and nurturing way
+ Contribute in staff onboarding - sourcing, screening, interviewing and teaching
+ This cross-functional role requires you to guide and mentor multiple team/people
**Basic qualification**
+ 6+ years in designing and implementing highly performant Android apps with ability to diagnose performance bottlenecks
+ An eye for the beautiful design and attention to detail to create delightful mobile experience
+ Have previously designed and built client-side integration with REST APIs
+ Be able to lead technical architecture discussions and help drive decisions in a creative and innovative way
+ Strong dedication to code quality and focus on automation and operational excellence: unit/integration tests, scripts, workflows
+ Guiding, training and mentoring with a caring mindset
+ A bias for continuous improvement, growth and innovative thinking
+ Strong collaborator and communicator. Must be proficient in speaking, writing, and reading in English, in a business and technical environment

+ Push notifications feature integrations
+ Experience with ORMLite, EventBus, Retrofit REST client, Kotlin
+ Experience with best practices for Android fragmentation
+ Full stack (client and server) experience
+ Experience building teams and/or start-ups
+ Familiarity with bash and Python scripting
+ Experience with Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
