Position Summary
The primary goal of the Center for Educational Partnerships, Outreach and Success is to improve access to higher education by implementing and administering early outreach programs that develop an understanding of, and support, the pathway to higher education for students and parents. This department builds collaborative relationships with schools, school districts, community colleges and other organizations to support this goal. This goal is achieved through administration of such programs as, but is not limited to, the Compact for Success, the Price Community Scholars Program, the Compact Scholars Program, the Early Assessment Program and collaboration with organizations with similar goals. This goal may also be achieved by creating new or enhancing existing efforts in support of improving student preparedness and enhancing systemic supports; to provide professional development in teaching/learning methodologies; support academic tutoring and mentoring; promote curriculum alignment; and organize campus visits.
Under general supervision of the Executive Director, Center for Educational Partnerships, and Success (CEPOS) and in collaboration with Enrollment Services, the Transfer Outreach and Student Success Coordinator will lead the coordination of various transfer student outreach and student success activities and other programs as assigned. The Coordinator will lead efforts to strengthen partnerships with community college support organizations to include Umoja, Puente, and HUBU, as well as community college personnel to positively impact education, access, and college success for specially admitted transfer students.

This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2022, with the possibility of reappointment. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.

Education and Experience
Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including or supplemented by upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related.
Experience: Possession of this knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred but is not required.
A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience. A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling or guidance may be substituted for the three years of experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional career or personal counseling.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated and highly skilled delivery of outreach presentations to parents, students, and/or community groups.
Experience with both local and non-local transfer student populations.
Knowledge of and experience with CEPOS outreach programs, partnerships and collaborations.

Specialized Skills
Demonstrated experience working with historically low-income and educationally disadvantaged students.
Experience presenting to both student and parent audiences on topics related to college knowledge and transfer college access.
Ability to work evenings/weekends.
General working knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.
Demonstrated knowledge of transfer student characteristics and needs.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,691 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,691 - $6,683 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
