Overview
Join a rapidly growing healthcare software industry leader. Currently we have a need for a Cloud Systems Architect who will be responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of software products with a cloud focus. Candidates should have advanced knowledge of cloud development practices in AWS (and/or GCP) and all related cloud eco-systems bringing a thorough background in hands on programming to assist with many projects. The candidate must be capable of mentoring and guiding other software engineers on concurrent projects as needed and should be able to do so with technical integrity. We are a full-stack development shop. You will be involved in all aspects from the database to the UI and everything in between. You will report directly to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
Develops the cloud architecture of various software applications alongside the architecture team and plots the path forward for new features and infrastructure across various product pipelines.
Develops and reviews design approaches to ensure that cloud software solutions are architecturally sound across all cross-functional software pipelines.
Works with the software development team to deliver timely, high quality cloud software products consistent with our product roadmap.
Analyzes complex requirements and information to provide estimates and ROMS (rough order of magnitude), while ensuring viability and appropriateness for defined scope of work.
Assists in the mitigation of technical support issues and timely delivery of bug-fixes or resolutions to existing code.
Rotates production release ownership with other architect and senior software engineers as needed during iterative lifecycles.
Works within an agile development process with continuous code integration, including R&D, QA, and support of code consistent with our product roadmap.
Participates regularly in planning & grooming sessions with Product, Engineering, and Quality scrum team members.
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative style, including the ability to develop creative approaches to tasks and difficult challenges given.
Communicates effectively and efficiently to both internal and external customer bases across all organization levels with technical or non-technical language.
Understands and can assist in automation efforts such as DevOps and automated reporting to ensure software delivery pipeline is as efficient as possible.
Perform code reviews, design reviews, evaluate implementations, and provide feedback to fellow team members.
Improve your skills, learn from and mentor top-notch engineers and enrich other team members.
Help improve and automate the process by detecting inefficiencies, suggesting ways to improve, and implement them.
Contribute to the company’s engineering culture, by implementing best engineering practices.
Qualifications
Required
BS, BA, or MS in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent
You have at least 5 years of development experience of SaaS products in AWS (or a cloud provider alike), working on production environments with live customers.
You are proficient in Java and/or Kotlin (experience with other server-side languages such as Go, C#, Python and alike is an advantage) and Spring framework.
You have experience with Linux & Git.
You have hands-on experience with cloud technologies building applications in microservices environments using docker, docker swarm, Kubernetes, etc.
You are passionate about CI/CD workflows and have experience with relevant technology stack and tools (like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Travis, TeamCity or alike).
You have hands on experience working with relational / non-relational DBs (experience with PostgreSQL is an advantage)
Experience in complex programming principles including Object Oriented programming, Inversion of Control, Dependency Injection, SOLID principles, etc.
Experience with monitoring and logging tools in a cloud environment (Ex: CloudWatch, ELK, Prometheus, etc.). Experience with Microsoft Application Insights is a plus.
Ability to adhere to proper HIPAA guidelines regarding PHI.
Ability to adhere to proper PCI compliance guidelines.
Experience in agile methodology strongly desired.
Expected to efficiently multi-task and accommodate change of priorities on demand.
Previous Azure experience is a plus.
