Preferred Qualifications:
A solid understanding of
Wireless 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies(GSM/WCDMA/LTE/GPS/WLAN/BLUETOOTH)and their physical layer performance metrics like; Sensitivity, Intermodulation, Tx Power, ACLR, EVM
RF Transmitter and Receiver design, link budgets, & impedance matching
Transmission line theory, undesired device and pad parasitics, Power and Signal Integrity
Impedance, VSWR, reflection, loss, attenuators, mixers, combiners, power meter, spectrum analyzer, and signal generators
Network Analyzer based skills including reference plane establishment and SMITH Chart usage for topologies consisting of discrete shunt & series elements
The baseband systems in a mobile device: Power, Memory Types, Sensors, Imaging, Audible sound in/out, Display, USB, Reference Clocks, and UICC
The buses between the systems: PCIe, CAN, Ethernet, SDIO, I2C, LVDS, and SPI
Fluent in the creation and interpretation electrical schematics using Mentor and/or Cadence, block diagrams, design layout, and bill of materials
Simulation of systems, devices, Transmission lines, matching structures, and PCB implements using, ADS, HFSS, and Matlab
PC Tools: QDART, QPST, QXDM, JTAG. Qualcomm RFC generation and RF Calibration
PC Skill: Windows files and systems, various basic OS settings, installing/updating drivers, Ethernet settings
Microsoft Tools: EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, OneNote
Physical Requirements
• Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to ½ mile.
• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.
• Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).
• Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.
• Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
